Capacity on 32 GB iPhone 5 with iOS 8.0.2
I checked out the listed "capacity" of my new, never used 32 gb iPhone 5 purchased through Verizon and used as a replacement phone as of the end of last week.
since the phone is sold and boxed as a 32 GB phone, why wouldn't the capacity also be listed as 34 GB? It's currently listed as 27.3. does iOS 8.0.2 take up that much space and is the space required for the iOS deducted from the total capacity listed under General > About > Capacity under the menu of the phone? Should I be concerned that the "Available" (capacity) is listed as only 15.6, or should this make perfect sense since the 16 GB iPhone 5 was basically filled to capacity at the its content was transferred to the 32 GB iPhone 5?
My apologies if answers to the above questions seem obvious or rudimentary, but I'm not exactly a techie, I just want to make certain that nothing is wrong.
I'm also concerned that since using the Mail app on the current 32 GB iPhone 5 for all of my Yahoo accounts, the Mail app has froze up several times while I'm in the middle of composing a Yahoo email reply. Im also noticing that when I'm typing, it appears as if the letters are crawling across the page. I don't recall ever experiencing these issues when using the Mail app for only one Yahoo account and one Gmail account and using separate Yahoo apps for the remaining Yahoo accounts. I do of course prefer to have all of the Yahoo email accts consolidated under the Mail app, but I don't appreciate all the freeze-ups which remind me of an old PC which either has a virus or spyware or has insufficient remaining space or both.
Any tips on resolving the Mail app freeze-ups on the phone and how to check that the phone doesn't have any virus, spyware or malware? Even though Apple products are touted as immune to viruses, isn't it still possible that it can have a virus? Which app do you recommend against the possibility?
